Lepidoptera Breeders Association

The Lepidoptera Breeders Association is a UK based  privately ran enterprise which supports and promotes the study of Moths and Butterflies by practical hands on interaction. Captive Breeding programmes ensure the survival of many Lepidoptera species both British and Exotic. This practical approach offers the unique chance for all to experience the joy of rearing Moths and Butterflies and in turn promotes conservation, knowledge, education and awareness. Papilio (Swallowtails)
Papilio Linnaeus, 1758. Some of the worlds most spectacular and well known butterflies belong to this genus often called "Swallowtails" Older classifications of the swallowtails tended to use a large number of rather small genera. More recent classifications have been more conservative, and as a result a number of former genera are now absorbed within Papilio. The genus as recognised by modern systems has about 200 members. Classification PAPILIO;  Ditrysia < Papilionoidea < Papilionidae < Papilioninae
(Up to EXOTIC BUTTERFLIES)
