Lepidoptera Breeders Association

The Lepidoptera Breeders Association is a UK based  privately ran enterprise which supports and promotes the study of Moths and Butterflies by practical hands on interaction. Captive Breeding programmes ensure the survival of many Lepidoptera species both British and Exotic. This practical approach offers the unique chance for all to experience the joy of rearing Moths and Butterflies and in turn promotes conservation, knowledge, education and awareness. We hope you enjoy this site and find the information useful.

EXOTIC BUTTERFLIESNOTES; While we endevour to supply as perfect a specimen as possible, due to the delicate nature of dried Moths and Butterflies, PAPERED butterflies may have slight damage. This often does not detract from the overall beauty of the insect but in order to prevent dissapointment (as standards vary!) we offer the below GUIDE which grades quality;

A1 = Perfect, Fresh, NO damage to wings, body, or antenna.
A1- = Slight superficial marks to wings, and/Or missing legs otherwise near perfect.
A2 = Obvious marking to wings (smudge or tear) Missing or damaged antenna and/or legs, still however a good example.
A2- = Poor condition, various damage to wings, antenna/legs, body. Useful for educational material or if rare for reference purposes.
